Google Scholar Profile

Silvia R. Santos da Silva is a PhD student in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently involved in research that explores the intersection of climate change mitigation and climate change impacts within the framework of the multi-sector Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM; maintained by JGCRI/PNNL). Her research focuses on integrated energy-water-land-climate modeling experiments to identify sectoral vulnerabilities and risks triggered by climate change mitigation; and on climate change impacts on renewable energy potential, in particular, wind and solar resources, to enhance GCAM modeling capabilities regarding climate change impact assessments. She holds a B.S. degree in meteorology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and an M.S. degree in atmospheric and oceanic science from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
